• A team from CBC's The National will be in Bromont in March. More details will be known in the next few days.
  • Highlights of the main items of the City Council's meeting of March 1st are:

    • Mr. Jean Bourgeois, which has been a member of the Bromont police team for 14 years was officially named Director of the Bromont police department.

    • City Council repeated its request upon Transports Québec regarding the situation for exit 78 overpass and Bromont boulevard. Road works are scheduled for 2004.

  • Will 2004 be as spectacular as 2003 in terms of residential construction ? Bromont certainly is off to a good start. View the latest statistics.

Special events

  • Bromont's Skating Club will present its annual show at the Arena on March 27th at 7 pm. For more information contact Francine Hébert at 539-3974.

  • Your garage is in desperate need of a good spring cleaning? The Bromont garage sale is back this year. The event will take place at the Arena on May 1st starting at 9 am until 3 pm. Cost to rent a table is $20. For more details, get in touch with the Service des loisirs et de la vie communautaire (SLCVC) at 534-4414.

Community life

  • The SLCVC's Spring-Summer 2004 guide to the complete list of community activities will be available through the Bromont portal on March 8. For those who wish to have a printed copy, contact the SLCVC at 534-4414 and leave your mailing address. The subscription period will extend from March 10th to March 26th and activities will start on April 5th.

  • Only a few weeks left to take advantage of the free access to the skating rink provided by the SLCVC at the Bromont Arena:
    • Every Monday, 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm until April 5th;
    • Tuesday to Friday, 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm until March 19th;
    • Everay Saturday, noon to 1:30 pm and Sunday from one o'clock to 2:30 pm until March 21st.

  • Le Cercle des fermières de Bromont's next meeting will be Tuesday March 9th at 7 pm at the community centre. For more info 534-7612.

  • La troupe Chlorophylle will offer a workshop on how to create and plant a small indoor garden. Fee is $25 per family. For more info 534-1220.

  • You are invited to Bromont's Bahaïe community celebration of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. The event will take place on March 20th at the community center starting at 7 pm. For more info 534-1422.

  • This year's soccer league will begin on May 17th. Subscriptions will take place on March 16th, 17th and 20th. The SCLVC is currently seeking trainers for the teams. For more information, reach the SLCVC at 534-4414.

  • Le Club horticole de Bromont will officially launch it's 2004 season on March 31st at the Centre Sportif et culturel (Arena) at 7 pm. Information on how to join and the complete calendar of events and activities are available on the club's website.

  • From March 29th to April 11th, the Centre sportif et culturel will host the Tournoi provincial de l'Avalanche. Admission fee for spectators is $4 for adults, $1 for students, free for children. From March 29th to April 1st and from April 6th to the 9th, games start at 6 pm until 10 pm. On April 2nd, 3rd, 10th and 11th, games start at 9 am until 10 pm.

  • Many mountain bikers are familiar with the Mondial du vélo organisation which supervises major events such as the Championnats Masters mondiaux UCI de vélo de montagne. In collaboration with la Fédération québécoise des sports cyclistes, the Mondial du vélo will now be in charge of supervising a new event, the "Coupe du Québec SISU Premium de vélo de montagne." This event will include four major competitions that are part of the "Coupe du Québec." Congratulations in winning this new event!
