• The "Quality of life in Bromont" contest is now under way. You have until May 31st to participate and share with fellow Bromonters what it means to enjoy Bromont's quality of life. Send in your personal story or picture by email at mj.hanoul@bromont.com.

  • The Bromont Heritage Tour was officially unveiled April 23rd. Don't forget to get your pamphlet which describes Bromont's Old Village architecture and history, available throughout the City in many boutiques, shops and restaurants.

  • Highlights of the main items of the City Council's meeting of May 3rd are:

    • The financial statements were filed for 2003 with a budgetary surplus of a little over $610,000 as well as a reduction of the long-term debt.

    • New yard sales (garage sale) regulations are in effect starting this year with two weekends where citizens can hold such events: June 12th-13th and August 14th-15th. No permit is necessary.

    • City Council has voted against the "Champs de rêves" event to be held in Bromont this summer.

  • The fourth edition of the Chocolate Fest will take place May 22-24 and May 29th-30th. Don't miss the many activities and keep your chocolate level at an all time high!

Community life

  • Cycling season is officialy here:

    • The Centre national de cyclisme de Bromont offers a wide array of training programs for beginners as well as more experienced cyclists which include mountain bike, road and BMX.

    • Although the training programs organized by the Club sportif Bromont have begun, there is still time to join. More information on the website or by phone at 439-2324.

    • If a little dirt doesn't scare you off, you will be pleased to know that the mountain bike trails of Skibromont.com are now open (weekends only until June 8th). Season pass available at a special rate until May 31st.

    • Cycling on the Estriade bike path certainly is an enjoyable way to admire the beautiful scenery of Bromont and the surroundings. For those who wish to discover more than what the Estriade has to offer, this 21 kilometers bike path gives access to a complete network made of more than 400 kilometers.

  • Need a few more perenials to had some "pizzaz" to your front yard? Take advantage of the Club horticole's Buy and trade day on May 22nd at the community centre (10 am to noon). If you are not yet a member, this is just the opportunity. You may join the club on the premises (membership annual fee is 10$).

  • A reminder that Bromont families are invited to participate in the Family Policy project discussion group scheduled to take place Saturday May 8th from 9 am to noon at the community centre. For more information, call 534-4414.

  • As part as the "Cheval en fête" event taking place in many areas and regions of Quebec, le Centre équestre de Bromont will hold an "open doors" day for visitors on Sunday June 6th from 8 am to 6 pm.

  • Here is the list of events scheduled to take place at the Olympic Equestrian Site in May:

    • May 15th - Hunter Pace - Horse Rallye (Montreal Hunt Club).

    • May 20th to the 23rd - International Can-Am Combined Driving Competition: selection trials for world championships. Free access for spectators.

  • The Voluntary Fire fighters Association will host their annual lobster dinner on June 5th at the Arena. Starting at 5 pm, tickets (60$) are available from Michel Martin at 534-2940.
