    The boom in residential construction continues. In the first half of 2004, the City experienced an increase of $5.5 million in residential construction over the same period in the previous year. View the latest statistics on residential development.

  • Personnel Changes

    The City Manager Rémi Lafrenière will retire on July 31st and Mr. Jacques des Ormeaux will assume the position of City Manager as of that date. Mr. Nicolas Rousseau will be given additional responsabilities in the area of development and will be assisted by a new Director of Public Works, Mr. Jean Lanciault.

  • A New Show

    Bromont might well be the site of a new equestrian ballet in 2005 and a group has approached the City to sound out its interest in this project. The City has mandated Mr. Ronald Caron, director of the recreation and cultural service to work out the details.


Community life

  • Tickets for Marc Dupré's show at le "Chapiteau Bromont" are available for Bromont residents at the special price of $25 (regular price $31.95). Tickets can be purchased at City Hall or at the Tourism and economic Information centre (open 7 days).

  • July 18th to the 31st, the "Club horticole de Bromont" will be visiting Bromonters garden's for the upcoming "Concours maisons fleuries", 2004 edition. Consult the Club horticole web site for details.

  • The "Beaux dimanches" concerts season is well under way. The July schedule is:

    • Sunday July 11th : Famille Larivière, musique classique, piano, violon et violoncelle.

    • Sunday July 18th : Grand Respir, musique celtique, complaintes acadiennes et airs cajuns.

    • Sunday July 25th : Serge Lavertu et Françoise Turcotte, chants classiques et folkloriques.

    • Sunday August 1st : Alexandre Valade, interprète, Lauréat du Grand Prix de la Chanson de Granby.

      Concerts start at 4 p.m. in the John-Savage park. In case of rain, the concerts are held at the Arena.

  • The municipal beach located on Frontenac street (just off Chemin de Gaspé) is open to the public. Access to beach, parking lot and facilities is free. Opening hours are Monday to Friday 1 p.m.- 5 p.m. and noon - 6 p.m. on weekends.

  • The Foster equestrian competition that was scheduled to take place Sunday July 25th at the Olympic equestrian site has been cancelled.
