reminder that due to new city regulations, residents who whish
to hold a yard or garage sale must do so during specific weekends,
the second one this year being August 14-15th. No permit is necessary.

Transports
Québec will start roadworks on the Highway 10 - Exit
78 access ramps starting this September enabling greater traffic
flow and security.

Highlights
of City Council's meeting of August 2nd are:
- The
Council has received citizen's demands regarding problems with
recent heavy rainfalls; many residences where flooded and the
Council asked the administration to produce a report outlining
plausible solutions in order to definitely settle this problem.
- City
Council minutes of the August 2nd meeting are available for
review.

Even
though the Marc Dupré performances have been canceled for
the rest of the summer (residents who purchased tickets can be
refunded at City Hall), Gary
Kurtz will be performing August 8th at the Chapiteau
Bromont.

Next
August 20th to the 22nd, the Champs
des rêves event will take place within the DJL
yards located at des Carrières Street. Part of the profits
will be given to the Fondation de l'Hôpital Ste-Justine.

Artists
from Bromont and abroad will be pleased to share with visitors
their passion during the 6th edition of the Symposium
d'arts visuels "Bromont en art". Both outdoors and
indoors exhibitions will take place August 27-29th in the John-Savage
park and at Saint-John church.

This
summer's big mountain bike event is the UCI
World Masters Championships. From September 2nd to the 5th,
400 cross-country and downhill competitors from 23 countries will
certainly put up a great show as they race down the trails of
SkiBromont.com.
Access is free for all spectators.

Families
of the Les Patriotes residential development are invited to this
year's annual picnic. The event will take place Saturday August
14th, starting at 1 pm. You can get in touch with Annie Gaudreau
at 534-3089 for more information.

Héma-Québec
and the mayor, Mrs Quinlan, invite you to Bromont's annual blood
donors clinic on Monday August 16th. Volunteers will be waiting
for you from 2 pm to 8 pm at the Centre communautaire located on
Compton road. The goal to reach this year is 145 donors.

The
municipal beach,
next to Gaspé road on Frontenac street, is open to the public
weekdays from 1 pm to 5 pm and week-ends from noon to 6 pm. A volleyball
area, playground and picnic tables are also available on the spot.
Since year 2000, the Ministère
de l'environnement gives the Bromont beach an «A»
rating water quality. Free access to the facilities including parking.

Le
Centre de la nature de Bromont (formerly Bromont sur le lac) is
open to the public again for swimming and hill-walking. Family rates
per car are $10 for the first adult and $3 per additional passenger.
Opening hours are from 10 am to 6 pm everyday.

Still
a few weeks left to appreciate local talents offering enjoyable
performances at Les Beaux dimanche de Bromont. Concerts take place
each Sunday afternoon at 4 pm in John-Savage park:

August 8th : Verdict (Réjean Falardeau), chansons populaires.
- Sunday
August 15th : Trio Bernard d'Anjou, jazz.
- Sunday
August 22th : Danielle Corriveau et Serge Côté,
flûte à bec et guitare.

August 29th : Marc-André Côté, musique folklorique,
accordéon à sapin.

reminder that even on rainy days, concerts are presented indoors
at the Arena.
