• Note that City hall's opening hours are now back to the regular schedule: from 8:45 am to noon and from 1 pm to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

  • Saturday October 2nd, the annual "Household Hazardous Materials Disposal Day" will take place at the fire station in the industrial park.

  • Highlights of City Council's meeting of September 7th are:

    • The Public Works department will undertake roadworks (subsidized by the Québec Government) at the Shefford, Des Carrières streets and Granby road crossing: a 4-way stop sign, among other improvements, will increase traffic security at this location.

    • City Council has elected the «Comité consultatif d'urbanisme» members for the next twelve months: Sylvie Laurin, Christian Blanchette, Mylène Fleury, Alain Brunelle and Andrée Corriveau as chairperson.

Special events

  • Luna, Isabeau and Mélisande Corriveau, la chorale Les Jazzeries, Serge, Françoise and their guests will be performing at the Community centre Saturday nights until the end of the year. Concerts are promoted by "Les Beaux dimanches" organization: tickets ($8 each) are available at City hall, the library and the Community center, 40 Compton Road.

Community life

  • The inscription period for the Fall's guide to community activities is extended to September 13th.

  • The Vieux Village annual fair will take place Septembre 19th on the Saint-François-Xavier church site: among activities planned, come and treat yourself to a corn on the cob!

  • Again this year, le Salon des artisans will take place November 20th and 21st in the hall at the Arena. Craftsperson are invited to contact Lyne Beaudry for further details at 534-5617.

  • The municipal tennis courts are still opened until October 2nd, from 8 am to 10 pm. Access is free for residants. An outdoor basketball playground is also accessible from 9 am to 9 pm at the La Chantignole elementary school. More info at the Community center loisirs@bromont.com or 534-4414.

  • Le Centre national de cyclisme offers BMX courses to youngsters 6 years and older every Saturday starting September 11th to October 30th, from 9:30 am to 2 pm.

  • The Montreal Hunt Club will launch its 2004 season next September 11th. Contact the Centre équestre de Bromont for more information at 534-0787.

  • For those seeking a job or wanting to change their career can attend this year 6th edition of the annual job fair at the Cégep Granby Haute-Yamaska September 24-25th. For more information, contact (450) 263-8822.

  • 50 years and older and still in shape! A 6 weeks workshop is given by the CLSC-CHSLD Thursday mornings starting September 23rd at the Community center. Contact Brigitte Lemieux at 375-1442.
