• The Bromont Fire Department reminds residents of the importance to have a working condition carbon monoxide detector installed where a combustion heating system is used. Also, general security rules are to be followed regarding the cleaning of chimneys and stove pipes.
  
  
• The 2005 municipal tax bill, which will be mailed shortly, is to be paid in three payments this year: by February 16th, June 8th and September 14th. Property taxe rates were adopted with the 2005 Budget and the 2005-2007 valuation roll is available online.
  
  
• Mayor Pauline Quinlan and Senior Manager and Development Director Jacques Des Ormeaux met Monday with the new owners of the ex-Hyundai plant. "Immeubles Eagle Skyline", a branch of Olymbec, will subdivide the plant and have industrial space for rent.

  • The Council received the support demand for the expansion of the Musée du chocolat to be realized within the «pacte rural de la MRC de la Haute-Yamaska».
    
    
  • The Council accepted in principle the agreement protocol renewal with the City of Granby for the temporary incarceration of criminally accused defendants.
    

• Construction permits have increased 70% in 2004 with the construction of 114 dwellings, 16 semi-detached, 5 four appartments, the Cercle des Cantons first 60 unit condominium building, two 8 condominium projects at "les Condos des Versants" on Bromont Boulevard, and "les Victoriennes du golf" in "Le Parcours du Vieux Village"). • The first week-end of the Festival du Grand Frileux was a great success. Many citizens and tourists participated in ice-carving, went for sleigh and dog-sledge rides. The event continues this week-end with more activities. A few tickets are still available for the «Ceuzes-là» performance scheduled Saturday night 8 pm at the Community Centre: tickets ($10) are on sale at l'Auberge du Badouillard (450) 534-2502 and the Bromont library (450) 534-2451.
  
  

• The inscription period for the Winter 2005 guide to community activities is extended to January 21st.
  
  
• Take advantage of the free skating rink access at the Arena every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm, and Sundays from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm. Four outdoor skating rinks are available for skaters at Grégoire Park and behind the Community Center.
  
  
• The Carnaval St-Vincent-Ferrier will take place February 19th and 20th this year. Outdoor activities start at 1 pm with a parade on Adamsville Street and main events happening at Gregoire Park.
