• The Police Departement will return to its Bromont Boulevard location starting February 17th. The expanded station, modernized to satisfy Level 1 requirements of the ministère de la Sécurité publique, will be opened to visitors at a later date to be announced in the March edition of the Voici Bromont.
  
  
• In 2005, yard/garage sales will be allowed weekends of June 11-12th and August 13-14. A reminder that regular security rules apply, especially regarding children items such as car seets, toys and the likes.
  
  

• Highlights of City Council's meeting of February 7th are:
  
  
  • The Council adopted "la stratégie de protection des espaces verts et des milieux naturels de Bromont" by concluding an agreement with the Conservation de la nature organization. The Yamaska river, the Bromont and Gale lakes ecosystems will forever be protected wild areas.
    
    
  • The Council announced two events in support of the Bromont cultural and family policies: a benefit concert for the BMP Hospital Foundation, to be held May 13th at 8 pm in St-François-Xavier Church, and a golf tournament due to take place May 26th.
    

• Residential construction continues to be Bromont's primary economic development focus with numerous condominium projects being developed such as the Cercle des Cantons, "les Victoriennes du golf" in "Le Parcours du Vieux Village", "Les cours de Bromont", and integrated redidential projects such as the "Carré des Pins" and "La rive gauche", a 160 dwellings development. • The Spring 2005 recreational activities guide will be posted on www.bromont.com March 8th. The inscription period will be from March 15th to the 26th, whereas activites will sart April 5th.
  
  
• Take advantage of the free skating rink access at the Arena every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm, and Sundays from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm. Four outdoor skating rinks are available for skaters at Grégoire Park and behind the Community Center.
  
  
• The Carnaval St-Vincent-Ferrier will take place February 19th and 20th this year. Outdoor activities start at 1 pm with a parade on Adamsville Street and main events happening at Gregoire Park. The crowning of the «Carnaval Kings and Queens» will be held Sunday after the mass where a brunch will be served by the Club de l'Âge d'Or. Contact Mireille and Raymond Bélanger at 263-7051.
