• A reminder that temporary car shelters must be removed by April 15th and that starting this date, until November 15th, overnight parking is allowed in the streets of Bromont, except where indicated.

  • The City is seeking candidates to fill the following job openings : summer camp coordinators and voluntary firefighter.

  • Highlights of City Council's meeting of April 4th are:

    • The financial statements were filed for 2004 with a budgetary surplus of a little over $816,000 as well as a reduction of the long-term debt. Consult the report in .pdf format.

    • City coucil has received the 2004 annual report of the Fire Department. The report is available for consultation at City Hall.

Special events

  • The "de la Chantignole" elementary school is hosting an auction sale of antique furniture next April 17th from 11 am to 5 pm in its gymnasium (35, Gaspe road). If you have antiques for sale, contact the school director Gille Rheault at 534-3310.

  • Listen to a sample of the artist's lyricsPerry Canestrari and its choir will sing Spring arrival, Friday May the 13th, at 8 pm in Bromont's St-François-Xavier Church. The concert is a special occasion for Bromonters to support the BMP Hospital Foundation and local activities. Tickets can be purchased from Lola Landes at 263-7124 or at City Hall at 534-2021. Income tax receipts will be handed for a part of the purchase price by the BMP Hospital Foundation.



Community life

  • The "Club de patinage artistique" is presenting their annual gala next Saturday, April 9th, at the arena. For more information, phone 534-2842.

  • The "Club horticole de Bromont" invites you to glance at their scheduled activities for the 2005 season.

  • Again this year, a garage sale is to be held at the arena on May 14th, from 9 am to 3 pm. A limited number of tables are available for a fee of $15, $20 or $25. You can reserve yours by calling 534-4414.

  • Many playgrounds can be found throughout the City of Bromont. Starting April 25th, you will be able to take advantage of the following facilities :

    • Basketball : De la Chantignole school and Grégoire Park (from 9 am to 9 pm).
    • Skate park : Grégoire Park (from 9 am to 9 pm).
    • Tennis court : Free access for all residents (8 am to 10 pm). There is a $5 fee to have a your key to the courts. Private and group lessons are available. More info in the «Leisure and recreation programs» section of the website.
    • Baseball field : Available for teams or groups. Contact the SLCVC at loisirs@bromont.com or by phone at 534-4414.
