• It's this weekend (and the second weekend of August) that residents who whish to hold a yard sale (garage sale) can do so. No permit is necessary.

  • City Council invites all citizens to attend a series of "coffee and doughnuts" meetings that will take place at City Hall from 10 am to noon on Saturday, June 11th, August 6th and September 10th.

  • Highlights of City Council's meeting of June 6th are:

    • Within the "programme de protection des espaces verts et des milieux naturels", the Council has approved the resiliation and replacement of the "Bromont sur le lac" long-term lease. And following an eventual zoning change, the City will be able to ensure perpetual protection of a 250 acre area in parternship with the Nature Conservancy Canada organization.

    • City Coucil has approved the purchase of land for sale in the High-Tech industrial park, a total of 48 million square feet at $0.05 per unit. This decision will enable the Bromont community to leverage business, residential and commercial development, as well as to reduce long-term debt, taxe rates and promote job creation.

Special events

  • The benefit concert for the BMP Hospital Foundation with Perry Canestrari and its choir, that was held Friday May the 13th in St-François-Xavier Church, was a success: $17,000 was given to the Foundation and $5,000 to the Cultural committee to promote other events.


Community life

  • The "Beaux dimanches de Bromont" concert series will start a new season on June 25th. Weather permitting, concerts start at 4 pm and usually take place at John-Savage Park but exceptionally, this first performance, with the "Cordavent" formation, will be held at the Arena where concert take place on rainy Sundays.

  • Saint-François-Xavier church welcomes married couples celebrating wedding anniversaries to a special mass followed by brunch on Sunday June 12th. Tickets available at the presbytery or by contacting Father Réal Lanoie at 534-2181.
  • Starting June 24th, the municipal beach located on Frontenac street (just off Chemin de Gaspé) will be open to the public. Access to beach, parking lot and facilities is free. Opening hours are Monday to Friday 1 p.m.- 5 p.m. and noon - 6 p.m. on weekends and holidays.

  • Take out your lawn chairs and come cheer the 165 little ones taking part in this summer's soccer games. Games take place at 6:30 pm Mondays through Thursdays at Compton park (behind the community centre) and at La Chantignole. As of more "mature" soccer players, teens and adults, they are invited to a "friendly game night" which takes place every Thursday night from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Call 534-4414 for all the details.

  • Tennis players are invited to join La ligue de tennis de Bromont. This organisation was created to promote and support tennis players from Bromont in practising and sharing their passion of the sport. Membership fee is $15 per family which includes affiliation to the Fédération de tennis du Québec. Contact Mr Paul Johnston at 266-2489.
