• Take note that the municipal library is closed for the month and that it will reopen August 1st.

  • Starting the beginning of August until mid-November, Bromont Boulevard will be completely redone from Exit 78 to Bleury Street. Roadworks will take place Monday to Friday noon to enable tourists to arrive orderly for weekends. A $3 million project in which the City of Bromont will invest $1 million, the Boulevard will have a distinctive look as can be seen in the following simulation.

  • The City of Bromont, in collaboration with the TVA Network, has acquired a new bilingual promotional video to attract tourists and new residents alike. Presented at local events such as the Chocolate Fest, the International Bromont and the Bromont en art symposium, the video is also available for download on the Welcome page of the www.bromont.com portal and under the «Virtual guided tour» heading.
  • In the Shefford Street matter, the Council has given Senior Manager and Development Director Jacques Des Ormeaux the mandate to accelerate the whole repair and reconstruction process which was planned for 2006-2007.

Community life

  • The "Beaux dimanches" concerts season is well under way. The July schedule is:

    • Sunday July 10th : Ronald Bastille et cie, jazz.
    • Sunday July 17th : Vicky Poirier, auteur-compositeur-interprète.
    • Sunday July 24th : Nord-Sud, rythmes du monde.
    • Sunday July 31st : Alexandre Valade, auteur-compositeur-interprète.

      Concerts start at 4 p.m. in the John-Savage park. In case of rain, the concerts are held at the Arena.

  • The municipal beach located on Frontenac street (just off Chemin de Gaspé) is opened to the public. Access to beach, parking lot and facilities is free. Opening hours are Monday to Friday 1 p.m.- 5 p.m. and noon - 6 p.m. on weekends.

  • July 20th to 24th and 27th to 31st, competitions of international span will be taking over the Olympic Equestrian Site as The International Bromont is back for its 30th anniversary edition. Admission fee for the complete event is $10.

  • Next July 31st, the Mondial Cyclotour "Start" and "Finishing" lines will be set on Bromont Boulevard between Sherbrooke and Champlain Streets (East direction from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., West direction from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.). A timed road ride open to all (minimum age 16 years old), a challenge for some, a competition for others, all road riders will find something to like at the Mondial Cyclotour.
