• It's the weekend of August 13th-14th that residents who whish to hold a yard sale (garage sale) can do so for the second time this summer. No permit is necessary.

  • City Council invites all citizens to attend a series of "coffee and doughnuts" meetings that will take place at City Hall, 10 am to noon on Saturday, this August 6th and next September 10th.

  • Starting today August 4th until early November, Bromont Boulevard will be completely redone from Exit 78 to Bleury Street. Roadworks will take place Monday to Friday noon to enable tourists to arrive orderly for weekends.

  • Following up on the June meetings with Shefford Street residents and bussinesses, the City informs citizens that land measuring is already taking place and that the reconstruction process will start as soon as all subsidies become available. Moreover, four road signs will be installed shortly to enforce the 50 km/h speed limit.
  • Construction of the Municipal and School Library should begin as scheduled in October. The City will give the mandate to the professionals who will win the call for tender underway.

  • City Council has approved an agreement with the City of Cowansville for Bromont residents to use, starting this September, the facilities of the public pool located at 431, Bachand Street, in Cowansville.

Community life

  • Le Service des loisirs, de la culture et de la vie communautaire will be offering this Fall's guide to community activities starting August 17th on the website www.bromont.com. Take note that the subscription period will end September 6th. A printed version of the guide will be available per request at 534-4414.

  • This year City of Bromont's Concours maisons fleuries will happen at the Community Center, August 30th, 7 pm. Consult the Club horticole de Bromont website for more details.

  • Artists from Bromont and abroad will be pleased to share with visitors their passion during the 7th edition of the Symposium d'arts visuels "Bromont en art". Both outdoors and indoors exhibitions will take place August 19-21th in the John-Savage park and at St-John church.

  • Still a few weeks left to appreciate local talents offering enjoyable performances at Les Beaux dimanche de Bromont. Concerts take place each Sunday afternoon at 4 pm in John-Savage park:

    • August 7th : Michel Guignet, trompette et voix, Jocelyn Brisebois au piano, Guy Breton à la contrebasse et Georges Angers à la batterie
    • August 14th : Qnidé, ballades
    • August 21st : Impromptu, flûte traversière et guitare
    • August 28th : Les marchands de bœuf, musique traditionnelle

    In case of rain, the concerts are held at the Arena.

  • The municipal beach, next to Gaspé road on Frontenac street, is closed to the public. Read the "la Direction santé publique de la Montérégie" news release for more information.

  • The Foster equestrian competition, that was scheduled to take place Sunday August 7th at the Olympic equestrian site, has been cancelled.
